THE YELLOW CREOLE COTTAGE
From my published book called "NEW ORLEANS AS IT WAS" _ A SKETCHBOOK OF DRAWINGS FROM 1989 to HURRICANE KATRINA. While evacuated I got a call from Rudy VanderLans of Emigre who suggested we take my salvaged sketchbooks of over 17 years of images of New Orleans and make a book with Ginko Press. The book is a bit sentimental. I watched my city flood and the human tragedy roll on. so the sentiments are real and that's all I can say. And not a very touristy book: there's bums, hookers and old buildings. I had more drawings than space. A portion of its sales go to the Tipatina's Foundation for New Orleans musicians clinic. I miss New Orleans even now.
